Weekly update: Vienna Blood is reviewed

By Daniela Nelson

'Tis the season to be jolly and as we all know, there's nothing better than a German Christmas Market with Bratwurst und Glühwein (see above). Here you can find some of the UK’s most popular Christmas markets. The British Council's new collection of essays, Crossing Points, is a year-long programme of cultural connections between Germany and the UK highlighting how the two countries are weaved together by literature, science, language. For music lovers, German pianist Mario Häring will be playing Debussy, Lachenmann & Schubert on December 10th, 1pm at Wigmore Hall, London. Almost to counter The Guardian’s underwhelming review of Vienna Blood, The Independent uploaded a five-star review, dubbing the show as ‘rich and textured as the finest apple strudel’. The Times features a piece Aldi’s success and the German food retailer’s targeting of UK ‘affluent middle classes’ for Christmas.
