The families of two Holocaust victims are suing the Lehman Foundation over an Egon Schiele painting, ‘Portrait of an Artist’s Wife’, purchased by Robin Lehman in 1964 in London. Both families claim their relatives owned the painting before the Nazis came to power. They came forward after Robin Lehman tried to sell the painting, valued between $5 and $7 million, at Christie’s in 2016. Read in detail about their claims here. The dispute will be settled this month in a New York state court.
